Christmas Tree Lighting

So I decided to go to the tree lighting at the Americana Thursday night. There was traffic getting there, worse than usual. The place was jam-packed with sections closed off to the public that even residents couldn't get to to return home. It was literally shoulder-to-shoulder at places with 0 mph foot traffic.

The tree did not light at its scheduled time. When it was lit, some fireworks was set off atop of the Barnes and Nobles building. The fireworks sent a few birds scrambling overhead, the sky got smoky, and even some ash fell. The display was weaker by far compared to the one I saw at a local high school on Independence Day. But people dissipated soon after the main attraction and it was easier to enjoy the atmosphere and the treats available there.

The tree in all its glory. It smells really nice!

The window display at Anthropologie was beautiful.  I love pinecones and they made hanging decorations out of real, paper, and felt ones; they look like a really easy DIY project!

I also went to Madewell to return this and get this. It was worth it at the end of the day, but I wouldn't do it again.
