Red + Yellow = Orange

I don't have any new art of my own to share yet, but here is a project I did with my students from the last few weeks.

This is a watercolor project that shows the kids that when mixing the primary colors red and yellow, we get orange. We drew yellow sunflowers in orange pots against a red wall.

I love that I can see each kids personalities through and in their drawings. Lindsay is carefree and her pictures always end up with a topsy-turvy feeling. Her compositions always have a lot of motion and is dynamic.

the smell of wet asphalt, hedges, stepping on dry crunchy leaves, red brick walls, cool breezes on a warm day, the warmth of the sun on a cold day, writing my name into a new book, singing, the process of getting to know a person, paper, hand-written notes from friends, subtlety, being driven around (as opposed to driving), brown paper bags, blowing dandelions, my friends being happy, writing with a pencil, making people laugh, holding a warm mug when it is cold, drinking tea, sticking my face out the window of a moving car, being barefoot & in pajamas, the fact you've read this far.
