I Miss You

After two weeks of being gone from work, I received a beautiful gift from my student Tiffany. She gave me a card she made with the words "I miss you" and a picture she drew of her family.

It is kind of random to receive a "I miss you" card with a picture of someone else's family on it. But at the same time, it represents something that really matters to her... and she gave it to me.

the smell of wet asphalt, hedges, stepping on dry crunchy leaves, red brick walls, cool breezes on a warm day, the warmth of the sun on a cold day, writing my name into a new book, singing, the process of getting to know a person, paper, hand-written notes from friends, subtlety, being driven around (as opposed to driving), brown paper bags, blowing dandelions, my friends being happy, writing with a pencil, making people laugh, holding a warm mug when it is cold, drinking tea, sticking my face out the window of a moving car, being barefoot & in pajamas, the fact you've read this far.
