Have you ever seen Giuseppe Arcimboldo's portraits that are entirely made out of fruits and vegetables? He even has portraits composed out of flowers and fish and fleshly bodies!
Arcimboldo's work is the inspiration of the latest project that I did with the kids in my art class. They also had to draw faces using fruits and vegetables. This taught them to pay attention to all the parts of the face, think about its proportions and shapes. This is also a project where no matter how the kids drew the face, they cannot get it wrong!
