Ecstasy or Z's

My best prescription for not falling asleep in class is to doodle. So that was what I did today to fight the z's from a week of less than satisfying sleep. In art, there are always references one is making, whether direct or indirect, intentional or inadvertent. As I doodled this, it brought to mind the painting of St. Francis of Assisi below.

on the piano we "noodle"
Coincidentally, I "scribbled" in my class tonight because someone's presentation was TOO boring. Too bad I threw them away. I wonder what my subconscious was.

the smell of wet asphalt, hedges, stepping on dry crunchy leaves, red brick walls, cool breezes on a warm day, the warmth of the sun on a cold day, writing my name into a new book, singing, the process of getting to know a person, paper, hand-written notes from friends, subtlety, being driven around (as opposed to driving), brown paper bags, blowing dandelions, my friends being happy, writing with a pencil, making people laugh, holding a warm mug when it is cold, drinking tea, sticking my face out the window of a moving car, being barefoot & in pajamas, the fact you've read this far.
